Austin Nichols — Julian Baker from One Tree Hill — just directed his first ever feature film and I got to talk to him about it. The Long Shot is already streaming on Apple TV and Prime Video and it is one of the most genuinely charming feel-good comedies I’ve seen in a long time. Ryan Hansen leads the cast in a performance that completely caught me off guard, Adrianne Palicki from Friday Night Lights shows up alongside him, and yes — Reggie Bush is in a Texas golf movie because apparently football is just the common thread in everything Texas. Austin is so proud of this film and getting to highlight the city he grew up in — and when you think about it, Julian Baker would be pretty proud too. Go watch it.
