Sarah Ferguson is reportedly “worried” about returning to the UK as she feels abandoned by the Royal Family, it has been claimed. The former Duchess of York, who was pictured in public this week outside a ski chalet in Austria, had previously not been spotted publicly for seven months as she tried to keep a low profile following her apppearance in the Epstein files.

While appearing in the Epstein Files does not indicate any wrongdoing, the documents – including emails sent between Sarah and the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein years ago – does show that she kept in touch with Epstein even after he was first convicted for child sex offences. She even seemed to be good friends with him, calling him a “legend” and like a “brother” in some emails.

Although it is believed Sarah regrets this past friendship, the scandals have resulted in backlash for the former duchess, who moved to the £2,000-a-night ski chalet to avoid the headlines back in the UK. It is believed that over the last few months, she has felt “abandoned” by the Royal Family, which she was once a part of, as they have not tried to contact her.

As reported by The Mirror, one friend said: “Sarah is living in fear right now. She’s not immune to everything that is happening. She realises how serious everything is, and she is not coping with it.

“She is definitely worried about returning home to the UK and is relying on the kindness of friends to help her through the situation. But she knows she can’t keep moving around forever. Sarah feels she has been abandoned by the royal family and has been treated very unfairly. She is at a complete loss over what to do.”
