Eva Mendes knows the importance of date nights with her longtime partner Ryan Gosling.
The actress, 52, recently chatted with PEOPLE for One Last Thing and revealed the couple make a point of finding “together-time” amid their busy schedules with daughters, Esmeralda, 11, and Amada, 10.
“Yeah, we do have date nights regularly,” she says. As for what they usually entail? “All the unmentionables,” Mendes adds, laughing. “I don’t know what else to say. We like movies and we like going to the movies so we try to keep that alive.”

The actress insists fans of the couple are usually respectful when they are out and about together. “People are usually cool,” she says. “If you want attention, you go to certain places, and if you don’t, you know where to go. We do the latter.”
Mendes, who is a brand ambassador and co-owner of the sponge and cleaning tool company Skura Style, shared a few more of her “lasts” in this week’s issue:
Last irrational fear:
Spiders. I was hypnotized for it twice by different people years apart. And I have to tell you, I’m still not okay with them. But before, I couldn’t even go into a room with one, and that physical hold is now gone.
Last time I danced:

This morning in my kitchen. Between Ryan, me and our two girls, I’m not a morning person. But I’ll play C+C Music Factory on my phone to snap out of it.
Last home improvement:
Mostly decluttering because I have kids and dogs. I’m not a clean freak or obsessive, but I really believe the state of my house reflects my inner state.

Last time I was mistaken for someone:
I sat next to an elderly gentleman in the industry at a dinner, and he thought I was Fergie. So much so that I ended up pretending to be her. I even hid my place card under my plate because I didn’t have the heart to tell him.
