Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were welcomed home with a darling surprise from their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

After taking a trip to Australia earlier this week, the Duke, 41, and Duchess, 44, of Sussex returned to their California residence on Sunday. Meghan took to her Instagram story to share video footage of a tender greeting from the young Prince and Princess. A banner with the words “welcome home,” punctuated with a red heart, rests atop the door to the home.

As Meghan panned the camera up, the family’s black labrador retriever, Pula, ran through the doorway and into the home. Meghan’s beagle, Gus, passed away last year.

Meghan’s Instagram story also showcases treats that she and Harry brought home from Australia. The haul included picture books featuring Australian animals, like ostriches and koalas, as well as sticker books.

Candies and a sweet letter addressed to Prince Archie and Prince Lilibet also appeared in the social media post. Meghan cheekily flashed a Tim Tam, an Australian chocolate cookie, to the camera as she drew one from the bag.

“Australia, you have our hearts,” wrote Meghan in an Instagram post shared on Sunday, including an emoji of the country’s flag and scoring the video with John Paul Young’s “Love Is In The Air.”

Meghan and Harry’s trip to Australia included stops in Melbourne, Canberra, and Sydney. The video post features footage from the excursion, which combined business with pleasure. Shots feature the couple making public appearances, including Meghan speaking on her podcast, Her Best Life, as well as intimate dinners and beautiful sweeping scenery.

The couple chronicled their trip through a series of posts on their official website.

The pair stopped by locations like the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne (RCH) and McAuley Community Services for Women, a “specialist organization supporting women and children experiencing family violence, homelessness, and related challenges.” At the RCH, Meghan and Harry met with children and families and learned about different holistic approaches to healing. Meghan helped to serve a shared meal alongside the McAuley Community Services team.

Meghan and Harry visited the Australian National Veterans Arts Museum, where they met with veterans and their families, observed art, and discussed “the role creativity can play in recovery and community building.”

They continued their focus on mental health, listening to students discuss their wellbeing at a meeting with Batyr, an organization focused on preventative mental health education.

Harry also appeared to discuss the importance of healthy fatherhood with Movember, a charity focused on men’s health. Other stops included Bondi Beach, where the couple met with first responders and survivors from the December 2025 Bondi attack and representatives from the Sydney Jewish Museum.

“The importance of connection – in care, in community, in service, and in leadership” reads the official website for the Duke and Duchess.
