Landing a role with the Royal Household might sound like a distant dream, but a handful of new opportunities have just opened up – and some come with salaries of up to £40,000. From supporting senior aides to helping run major royal residences, the newly listed roles span some of the UK’s most iconic locations, including Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and Kensington Palace.

These new vacancies offer a rare glimpse into what it takes to keep the Royal Family’s day-to-day life running smoothly. Among the positions currently open are a high-level executive assistant role working closely with the King’s team, alongside project and programme-based jobs helping deliver key operations across the royal estate. There are also opportunities for successful applicants to work directly with historic artefacts or to help oversee the day-to-day running of palace infrastructure.

Collections Management Coordinator – £32k

Starting Salary: £32,000 per annum

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

You will be responsible for the logistical coordination of the Royal Collection’s vast inventory. This includes tracking the movement of items, maintaining accurate records in the collection management system, and ensuring that the physical care of historic objects meets the highest standards during transport or display.

Key responsibilities include managing object documentation, assisting with the physical packing and movement of artworks and helping transition the team to a new collection management system.

Executive Assistant to the Assistant Private Secretaries to The King – £40k

Location: Buckingham Palace

Starting Salary: £40,000 per annum

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Includes occasional travel and potential extended hours during busy periods)

This is a high-profile administrative role at the heart of the Monarchy’s operations. You will provide comprehensive support to the Assistant Private Secretaries, managing complex diaries, coordinating travel arrangements and acting as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include coordinating royal engagements, managing high volumes of correspondence and providing seamless support to senior staff at the heart of the Monarchy.

Programme Coordinator and Team Assistant – £30-32k

Location: Buckingham Palace

Starting Salary: £30-32 per annum

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Supporting the Household of TRH, The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, this role coordinates official domestic and overseas programmes. It involves balancing the Duke and Duchess’s patronages with official duties in support of The King.

Key responsibilities include planning official visits, drafting briefings and correspondence and providing administrative support to a small, fast-paced team.

Visitor Operations Manager; Infrastructure & Projects – £40k

Location: St James’s Palace

Starting Salary: £40,000 per annum

Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (12-month fixed-term contract)

You will manage the infrastructure and project-based aspects of opening the Royal Palaces to the public. This includes overseeing site preparations, managing vendors, and ensuring that all visitor facilities are maintained to a world-class standard while protecting the fabric of the historic building.

Key responsibilities include managing site-specific infrastructure projects, such as temporary structures and wayfinding, overseeing vendor contracts and ensuring the palace is operationally ready for summer openings.
