Boxes of Basics is preparing to deliver nearly 200 curated clothing boxes to children in the Georgetown South community on Wednesday at 10 a.m. This delivery begins the first portion of a 390-box commitment that will continue over the next two weeks, ensuring that every child in the neighborhood receives a complete set of essentials.

Each box is assembled with care and includes school and play outfits, a sweatshirt, pajamas, a winter coat, hat, mittens, a new pair of sneakers, socks, underwear, an age-appropriate book, and a dental hygiene kit. These items support comfort, confidence, and stability for children as winter approaches.

MG Movers is donating transportation support by providing trucks, staff time, and hands-on assistance to move the boxes from the Boxes of Basics warehouse to the Georgetown South Community Center. Sarah Tyndall, Founder and Executive Director, noted that the organization is grateful for this partnership and the role it plays in reaching families quickly and safely.

Georgetown South Community Manager Meg Carroll emphasized that these deliveries reduce daily strain on families and reinforce the community’s sense of support.

Media representatives are invited to attend Wednesday’s delivery at the Georgetown South Community Center, where interviews and photo opportunities will be available.

Boxes of Basics remains active in serving children throughout Northern Virginia, relying on volunteers, staff, and community partners to meet ongoing needs through each season.
