If you’re looking to liven up your weekend with some action, you’ll want to stream “Apex,” an all-new survival thriller from director Baltasar Kormákur (“Beast,” “Everest”). It stars Charlize Theron as Sasha, a grieving woman who finds herself pushed to her limits in the unforgiving Australian wilderness.
How? Well, Sasha finds herself ensnared in a deadly game of cat and mouse after crossing paths with Ben (played by “Carry-On” star, Taron Egerton), a skilled hunter and twisted, ruthless serial killer who’s hot on her trail. It’s Netflix’s big new original movie release this week, and it’s bound to be a popular addition to the platform.

Across the years, “Untold” has tackled all manner of sporting stories, and the final film in this latest installment is a true-crime doc exploring a 2019 feud between a trainer and their student.
“Untold: The Shooting at Hawthorne Hill” revolves around ex-Olympic equestrian Michael Barisone and his dressage student, Lauren Kanarek. Barisone took Kanarek on as his New Jersey farm, but tensions mounted between them, leading to 911 calls, cryptic social media posts and accusations of spying. It all culminated in a shocking act of violence and a trial that, as Netflix puts it, “rocked the prestigious and sophisticated world of Olympic horseback riding.”
