Sunday Brunch host Tim Lovejoy had to step in and apologise after a guest apparently broke the rules.
Comedian Amy Gledhill was on the Channel 4 series talking about her new stand-up tour when she said the word “bloody”, not realising she wasn’t supposed to use the word on the live show.
Tim and co-host Simon Rimmer were asking Amy – who is one of the comics on the new series of Taskmaster – about her stand-up show Thanks For Having Me and whether she had written any of it yet.
Amy replied that she had started it, then went on: “Do you know what? We’re going to have a good time. We’re going to have a bloody good time.”
She continued to say how much she was looking forward to it as she loved being on tour, but Tim interrupted to say: “You’re not allowed to say that word, by the way. So can I just apologise?”

“Oh, I apologise!” Amy exclaimed, looking embarrassed, as Tom assured her it was “no problem at all”.
“Oh, my goodness,” she went on as the rest of the guests on the programme started to laugh. “Oh, I’ve broken a rule. I’ve always been a teacher’s pet.”
“I’m quite punk,” she added with a laugh. “Wow. I did something wild on live TV. So sorry.”
Amy brought it up again as she was discussing her upcoming comedy tour, which is taking place next year.
She told presenters Tim and Simon: “I’ve got a few stories in mind, and you sort of think, ‘What’s the general theme?’ And I think my energy, apart from when I’m being punk rock on live TV, is very much of a competition winner. I’ve got big competition winner energy.

“And I’m just so like, ‘Thank you so much.’ I’m just over the moon all of the time.”
Some Sunday Brunch viewers were confused about the apology over that particular word, with one person posting “WTF” on X. “Can’t say ‘bloody’ …. f*** right off,” another person said on the platform, which was formerly Twitter.
Sunday Brunch airs on Channel 4.
