Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are said to have conflicting ideas as their son’s seventh birthday fast approaches. The couple welcomed Prince Archie on May 6, 2019, just one year after tying the knot in Windsor.

It has been reported that Meghan is keen to follow the Royal Family’s approach to birthdays by sharing a picture of Archie on Instagram to mark his special day, but Harry reportedly wants to continue keeping their two children, including four-year-old Princess Lilibet, out of the spotlight.

As part of the royal tradition, the Prince and Princess of Wales shared a picture of their youngest son, Prince Louis, to mark his eighth birthday last week. The couple will also likely follow suit for Princess Charlotte’s birthday later this week.

Speaking of Harry and Meghan, an insider told New Idea: “This isn’t the first time this conflict has come up – and there are times it’s been Meghan holding Harry back from showing off pictures of their kids.

“But Meghan thinks it’s the perfect time to release a formal set of pictures of Archie for his birthday – especially now her Archie candle’s been released.”

Speaking of Harry not being keen on Meghan’s idea, they added: “However, Harry’s starting to worry about Archie and Lilibet losing their titles if they keep pushing the lines between being royalty and monetising it.”

They also spoke of the contrast between Harry’s struggles with the press and his desire to protect Archie and Lilibet.

The insider added: “He’s also fearful of trolls and putting a target mark on their young son’s back.

“He’s got enough to deal with – plastering his picture to the world online is going to change his life and not necessarily in a good way.”

Much like her brother, Lilibet is set to celebrate her fifth birthday just weeks later, on June 4.
