Megan Thee Stallion is departing Moulin Rouge! The Musical two weeks early.
In a statement issued on Monday, the Savage rapper – real name Megan Pete – announced that she would be cutting her run in the Broadway show short.

Megan’s final appearance as Zidler will be on 1 May.

“It’s been such an honour to be part of Moulin Rouge! and I’ve met so many amazing people in this theatre! Y’all work so hard and I have so much respect for the dedication, the stamina, the work ethic, the time and the effort y’all put into the work!” she shared. “Every single person at the Moulin Rouge! has inspired me to go harder as an entertainer.”

Megan went on to thank her castmates and dedicated fans, known as Hotties, for supporting her amid the production.

“I’m so grateful for the cast and crew that made this experience so meaningful. Y’all are really some of the kindest human beings I’ve ever met! To all the Hotties that showed up or planned to attend, thank you for supporting me during this incredible journey!” the 31-year-old added.

In February, Megan confirmed she would be taking on the character, originally named Harold Zidler, for a limited eight-week run.

She is the first woman to portray the Zidler in the show, with the likes of Boy George, Eric Anderson, and Bob the Drag Queen previously having taken on the part.

However, Megan has experienced ups and downs in her personal life amid her Broadway debut.

In early April, the Hot Girl Summer hitmaker was rushed to hospital after she became ill during a performance. She was treated for “extreme exhaustion” and other symptoms before returning a few days later.

And over the weekend, Megan revealed via an Instagram Stories post that she had broken up with NBA player Klay Thompson after nearly a year together.

In her message, the Texas native accused the sportsman of cheating on her.
