Jurassic Park star Sam Neill has confirmed that he’s now cancer-free.

Neill spoke openly throughout his cancer battle, first revealing news of his diagnosis with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma in 2023.

Now that he’s cancer-free, Neill is reflecting on his tumultuous journey with his health in recent years, telling Australian media outlet 7 News, “I’ve been living with a particular type of lymphoma for about five years, and I was on chemotherapy and the pretty miserable business, but it was keeping me alive.”

He frankly shared, “Then the chemo stopped working. I was at a loss and it looked like I was on the way out, which wasn’t ideal obviously.”

After the chemotherapy stopped working, he instead turned to CAR T-cell therapy, which has miraculously saved his life, joyfully revealing, “I’ve just had a scan just now and there is no cancer in my body, that’s an extraordinary thing.”

While the treatment is not readily available to Australians, it is in the process of being formally approved to Neill’s excitement, adding, “I’m very, very excited that this can happen.”

With the 78-year-old now back in good health, he’s even eyeing up a Hollywood return, saying, “It’s time I did another movie.”

In 2023, Neill previously admitted that he’s “prepared” and “not remotely afraid” of dying, but did thank cancer for changing his outlook on his life, saying, “I started to think I better write some of this down because I’m not sure how long I have to live. I was running against the clock.”

His wish in 2023 was to live “another decade or two” to see “my lovely little grandchildren” grow, which, beautifully, seems to be happening now.
