Friday’s episode of Coronation Street is not going to be on ITVX in the morning as usual, as a killer twist airs tonight.

While Corrie normally uploads the latest episode each morning before it airs on TV that evening, the latest episode will be a little different. As murder week draws to a close, fans will finally find out who dies as Theo Silverton, Maggie Driscoll, Megan Walsh, Jodie Ramsey and Carl Webster all face death.

Friday’s episode confirms who dies, but fans wanting to know who this is will have to wait until the episode airs on ITV1 and ITVX at 8:30PM tonight. ITV have decided to ditch the early release, and to have everyone find out the victim at the same time.

The decision will most likely have been made to ensure that the death is not leaked on social media and ruined for those fans who cannot watch the episode until the evening. This way, no viewer finds out before anyone else, and everyone will be watching at the same time.

So fans will have to tune in on Friday night for all the details, and to see one character’s final scenes play out. The Mirror will be sharing all the drama and gossip with you all at that time, so do check back for Corrie content galore.

Until then, fans will just have to keep guessing and wait for the episode to air. Fans learning about the decision took to social media to react.

A viewer posted their dilemma saying: “So we don’t see the murder until Friday, and they don’t show the episode early on ITVX on Friday and I’m out on Friday!” Another said: “The other programme Beyond Paradise gonna have to wait until Saturday cos I ain’t missing the live watch of Corrie. I want to see if my prediction is right.”

A third fan added: “Yes needs to be done otherwise spoilers will be out at 7am.” A further reaction read: “Ooh! That’s good, but also bad because no-one else in my house wants to watch.”

Another fan commented: “Oh I’m so glad I love watching reveals like this all together!” A final post said: “Good decision. Nothing better than watching live Corrie with other fans at the same time, no worries of spoilers – just hope YouTube won’t upload the episode early.”

This isn’t exactly unusual, with all the soaps, including Corrie, often deciding against early release episodes when there’s a big twist or moment happening. Corrie’s crossover with Emmerdale, Corriedale, was kept off of ITVX until the evening in January.
