The Jonah Hill-directed “Cut Off,” originally slated for a release this July through Warner Bros. Pictures, has been pulled from the studio’s calendar according to numerous trades.

Hill and Kristen Wiig star in the film as wealthy mid-40s siblings who suddenly find themselves cut off from the financial support of their parents. For the first time, they are forced to navigate adult life on their own financially.

Bette Midler, Nathan Lane, Adriana Barraza, Camila Cabello, and Chelsea Peretti also star in the film, which is Hill’s fourth directorial effort following the well-received “Mid90s,” the Netflix documentary “Stutz,” and the poorly received dark comedy “Outcome”.

So far, no real publicity material from the film has been released, so the likely temporary removal isn’t a huge surprise. World of Reel reports that the film had a test screening a few weeks ago, which “wasn’t encouraging”.

Hill previously dubbed the film a return to ‘classic comedy’ and in the vein of “Step Brothers,” “Trading Places” and “Clueless”.

Hill, Matt Dines and Ali Goodwin serve as producers from a script Hill co-wrote with Ezra Woods. A new release date is expected to be announced soon.
