NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A-list Oscar-winning actor Tom Hanks’ son, Chet Hanks, recently revealed on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon that he lives in an RV trailer park in the Nashville area.
During the interview, Fallon brought up how Chet recently moved to Nashville to pursue country music.
“You didn’t tell me that you were gonna move to an RV park,” Fallon said.
“I didn’t want to get an apartment,” Chet explained “Because I literally just got a condo in LA and I furnished it.”
He said he didn’t want to get a new property and furnish it again so he said he was staying in Airbnb’s and hotels.
“That gets really old because I just like having my own space,” Chet said.
He decided to go with a trailer after he said he went on a road trip to the Bay Area in Carmel in an Airstream trailer.
“I really loved it,” Chet said. “I was like, man I want one of these.”
Chet didn’t get an Airstream, but he did get a Jayco Eagle.
When he explained what living in the RV park was like he said he is the youngest person by 30 or 40 years.
“You think ‘Oh, you’re going to live in a trailer park. It might be a little sketchy. It might be a little dangerous.’ It’s all just retirees,” Chet said.
Chet was on the show to promote his recent performance at Stagecoach with his band, Something Out West, and their latest song “You Better Run.” The song has music video which makes a nod to one of Tom’s most iconic roles, Forest Gump. Tom also makes a guest appearance in the music video.
Chet also discussed the Netflix show, Running Point, he’s in alongside Kate Hudson and Brenda Song.
