Prince William and Meghan Markle have unexpectedly become the center of a wild new royal theory online.
The pair were dragged into the conversation after social media began speculating about the real cause of the tension between them and their respective partners, Kate Middleton and Prince Harry.
The theory comes as relations between the two couples remain deeply strained, years after Harry and Meghan stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and later made a series of damaging claims about senior members of the royal family.

The theory adds a scandalous twist to the royal fallout, suggesting that the Prince of Wales may have “had a crush” on the former “Suits” actress, allegedly linked to his fondness for the hit legal drama.
Those pushing the theory also claimed that Kate was initially excited to meet Meghan after she and Harry began dating, only to later become “hostile” toward her for “no clear reason.”

Shortly after stepping back from royal duties, Harry accused William and Kate of “stereotyping” Markle and claimed their “behavior” created a barrier to her being fully welcomed into the royal family.
At the time, the Duke of Sussex said the future king and queen never expected him to end up with “someone like Meghan,” despite reportedly being huge fans of “Suits.”
“I don’t think they were ever expecting me to get into a relationship with someone like Meghan, who had, you know, a very successful career,” Harry said, per The Mirror. “There was a lot of stereotyping that was happening, that I was guilty of as well, at the beginning.”

When pressed on what he meant, Harry said Markle’s background as an American actress, a divorcée, and a biracial woman may have shaped how some members of the royal family viewed her.
He explained that those factors were “in the back of [his] mind” when he looked back on William and Kate’s behavior toward Markle.
“Some of the things that my brother and sister-in-law, some of the way that they were acting or behaving, definitely felt to me as though, unfortunately, that stereotyping was causing a bit of a barrier to them really sort of, you know, introducing or welcoming her in,” Harry said.
He went on to suggest that Markle’s identity and public image were filtered through tabloid narratives.
“Well, American actress, divorced, biracial, there’s all different parts to that and what that can mean,” he added. “But if you are, like a lot of my family do, if you are reading the press, the British tabloids, at the same time as living the life, then there is a tendency where you could actually end up living in the tabloid bubble rather than the actual reality.”

Meanwhile, William has managed to keep his distance from his brother and sister-in-law all these years, despite alleged efforts on Harry’s side to make contact.
Royal experts have suggested that the warring brothers may not see eye to eye in the near future, as William has a “ruthless side” against anyone he feels has wronged him.
British broadcaster and photographer Helena Chard told Fox News Digital that the father of three is “done with drama” and is now “ignoring the circus.”
“This feels like a permanent royal reset,” she shared. “But William’s silence isn’t a mystery. It’s a strategy.”
“William regards his brother as totally untrustworthy,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said.
