As onlookers wait with bated breath to see how guests interpret the Met Gala theme “Fashion Is Art,” this year’s event has hit a few milestones already. Having raised a record $42 million, the Costume Institute will unveil the Condé M. Nast Galleries in the museum’s Great Hall, where this year’s exhibit “Costume Art” will be shown.
But before entry into the gallery, there is, of course, the fashion, the flashbulbs, the jewels and Beyoncé, an official co-chair who will grace the carpet for the first time in a decade.
