There are always celebrities that show up and show out at big events. With the Kentucky Derby being a big deal there were lots of celebrities that had to make their 2026 Kentucky Derby appearance. The derby is not just about the horses racing, it’s like it turns into a full-on celebrity showcase at Churchill Downs. From chart-topping musicians to Super Bowl champions and Hollywood favorites, this year’s Derby crowd brought serious star power to Louisville.
Music’s Biggest Names Show Up
The red carpet (and the infield) had no shortage of music royalty. Patti LaBelle and Chaka Khan (one of my personal favorites) brought legendary energy, while Luis Fonsi and Nicole Scherzinger added some global pop flair. I will be honest the 2026 celebrity line up at the Kentucky Derby taught me who a lot of people were that I didn’t know much about.
Hollywood Brings the Glam
It wouldn’t be Derby weekend without a little Hollywood, and this year definitely delivered. Jon Hamm and Neil Patrick Harris were among the familiar faces, joined by Melissa Joan Hart and Danica McKellar.
Comedian Chris Rock added some star power, while Anthony Ramos and Gina Torres rounded out a strong showing from film and TV.
Athletes Trade Jerseys for Derby Hats
Of course, the sports world showed up in a big way, too. MVPs and champions swapped uniforms for suits and hats, including Nikola Jokic, Joe Burrow, and Patrick Mahomes.
They were joined by WNBA legend Sue Bird, rising NFL talent Cooper DeJean, and Hall of Famer Warren Moon.
More Than a Race
The Kentucky Derby has always been about more than just the fastest horse it’s about tradition, fashion, and bringing people together. And in 2026, that tradition was on full display with a guest list that felt more like an awards show than a day at the track.
Big hats, bold fashion, and big names, it’s all part of what makes the Derby one of the most exciting events of the year. And if this year’s celebrity turnout is any indication, the “Run for the Roses” continues to be the place to see and be seen.
