Deadline reports Sophie Thatcher is attached to star in a film adaptation of James Tiptree, Jr.‘s Hugo Award-winning 1973 novella, The Girl Who Was Plugged In, from The Babadook director Jennifer Kent. Thatcher plays “disfigured, suicidal young protagonist P Burke who is hired by a mega tech corporation to virtually operate a beautiful but brainless ‘flesh body’ called Delphi, grown in a lab with the sole purpose of influencing the masses and selling products. As Delphi’s star rises, P Burke becomes enthralled by her and descends into a tech psychosis with disastrous consequences.”

Starman

Deadline also reports Brendan Fraser will star in Starman, a “cosmic sci-fi thriller” from Josh Wakely. The story concerns Fraser’s character, a technologist who launches an expedition to Mars that flung millions of miles off-track by unforeseen events.

Clayface

James Gunn recently confirmed on Threads that the Clayface seen in the upcoming solo film is the same character previously seen on Creature Commandos.

Christmas Chronicles 3

During a recent interview with MovieWeb, Kurt Russell stated he doesn’t “know if they’ll ever do” a third Christmas Chronicles movie at Netflix.

They deal with their algorithms, and I’ve always felt that it expanded their markets so fast on the first one, and the second one did pretty much the same thing. Once you’ve got what you’ve got, how much is a third one gonna garner you in terms of an expanded audience? That’s the reality for things that are done on a lot of the streaming networks. I don’t know if they’ll ever do [another] one or not, but I loved playing the character. I love playing Santa Claus…my take on Santa Claus is what you see.

The Sheep Detectives

Hugh Jackman introduces each member of his crime-solving flock in a new clip from The Sheep Detectives.

Evil Dead Burn

A new “green band” trailer for Evil Dead Burn includes a full minute of alternate footage from the previous “red band” trailer.

Daredevil: Born Again

Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Dario Scardapane revealed filming on the third season of Daredevil: Born Again should conclude by this June or July.

I’m writing the finale right now. We wrap in early July at this point. So we’re right about the halfway mark. All the scripts except the last one are written. We’re shooting episode block 2, so we’re just wrapping up episode 4 right now. We’re heading into block 5 and 6, and then June-July will be the end.

Star Wars: Ahsoka

Dave Filoni revealed he’s now working on the visual effects for the second season of Star Wars: Ahoska in a new interview with Screen Rant.

Working on it! It’s coming. It’s come a long way. Obviously, I’m editing all the episodes at once right now and just deep in visual effects with the team. But I’m really proud of everyone an the work they put in. Lots of things to resolve and figure out, but that’s normal. I’m excited for people to see it. We didn’t really get to go out and premiere, in a way, last time. I think that the team’s really excited to be out with the fans with this one and see how it goes.

The Boys

Finally, Vought International has released a new in memoriam video for “visionary” filmmaker, Adam Bourke.
