Over the years, Meghan Markle’s ties with the British royal family has remained a major topic of discussion among the public.
In particular, King Charles III’s relationship with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has drawn much public attention.
Now, a wedding photograph of Harry and Markle has been removed from display at Charles’ Highgrove residence in Gloucestershire and replaced by an image of the king holding his grandson Prince Louis, according to pictures shared by royal photographer Chris Jackson.
This has sparked speculations about the current status of the Suits actress’ ties to the royal family.
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Wedding Day Photo Replaced
Jackson posted photographs from an event at Highgrove on his Instagram stories showing two images on a wooden table: one showing Charles with his sons Harry and Prince William, and another showing the king holding Louis.
According to Hello magazine, a 2024 photograph taken by Lydia Millen of the same spot showed three frames in that location: the image of Charles with his two sons, a portrait of him with the late Queen Elizabeth II and a photograph of Harry and Markle’s 2018 wedding.
The wedding photograph no longer appears there, as shown in the recent images. This caught the attention of eagle-eyed netizens.
Harry and Markle stepped back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020. Relations between the Sussexes and the royal family have remained strained since then.
Markle’s use of her children’s royal titles to promote her As Ever lifestyle brand also drew criticism from some observers, with calls for Charles to strip the couple of their titles.
‘Meghan Is Fuming’
According to a report by Closer magazine, Markle was displeased with Charles and Queen Camilla’s four-day visit to the United States. A source told the outlet that Harry and Markle were not aligned in how to respond to the situation.
“Harry is doing his best to stay pragmatic, and anytime questions about why Charles is meeting with Trump come up, he’s quick to point out that it’s simply part of his father’s role,” the source said.
However, the insider also revealed that the situation is difficult for Harry personally.
Markle, however, reportedly believes Harry should stand his ground and not make excuses on behalf of Charles.
“Meghan is fuming and saying it sends the wrong message if they let this go unchallenged,” the source said.
The insider also said Markle is taking the situation “very personally” and does not understand why Harry is trying to defend his father’s position.
