It may be one of the most highly-anticipated blockbusters of the decade, but progress on The Batman: Part II has been rather slow so far. Things are looking up, however, as filming is finally under way.
Work on the follow-up to Matt Reeves’s acclaimed 2022 superhero film has steadily picked up this year, and a new social media post from DC Studios has given us a little glimpse at what we can expect.
The behind-the-scenes photo, which was shared on Instagram, has the corner of the Batmobile in the shot. More interestingly, we can see some snow settling on the ground, with rumours of a wintery setting for the film being seemingly true.

The comment section was understandably full of messages from enthusiastic fans, with one excited follower writing: “A Batmobile chase scene in the Winter would go insanely hard not gonna lie.”
“That’s going to look incredible in imax! Can’t wait!” wrote another fan, while a third penned: “I’m ready to look out for the shadows again.” Several other fans also wondered if Mr Freeze was the villain, given the chilly setting.
Plot details for the film have largely been kept under wraps, though we do know that Robert Pattinson, Jeffrey Wright, Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis are set to reprise their respective roles as Bruce Wayne, Jim Gordon, The Penguin and Alfred Pennyworth.
It’s currently unclear if Zöe Kravitz will be returning as Catwoman, or if Barry Keoghan will reprise his part as the Joker. There are also new cast members, with Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson playing Harvey and Gilda Dent.

While plot details are scarce, Pattinson did tease elements of the superhero film in an interview with Filme Gitmeden Önce, saying: “I mean, the script is so good… I think it’s kind of crazy.”
“The first one was like a little bit of a different type of Batman movie, and this is like really a different type of Batman movie,” he added. “I think hopefully people will be really pleasantly surprised by it. Yeah, I’m really excited.”
The Batman: Part II is scheduled to be released in cinemas on 1 October 2027.
