Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor will probably feel “more resentful” over his banishment to Sandringham after he was allegedly threatened close to his new home, according to an expert.
The former Duke of York was out walking his dogs when the incident is said to have occurred in Wolferton, close to his Marsh Farm property, shortly after 7.30pm on Wednesday. A man is said to have come within a few metres of Mountbatten-Windsor’s car in a threatening manner.
On Friday, Alex Jenkinson, 39, pleaded not guilty at Westminster Magistrates’ Court to using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear or provoke unlawful violence to the ex-prince.

The incident comes just months after Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of all of his titles and forced out of his former Windsor mansion, Royal Lodge, after more information came to light in the Epstein files about his association with paedophile billionaire Jeffrey Epstein.
His new accommodation and life is being paid for privately by his brother, the King. The former prince Andrew pays for private security out of this allowance given to him by the King to meet his living expenses at Marsh Farm.
And former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told the Mirror : “I think Andrew will use this alleged incident to argue that he needs more security, funded by his brother , the King…and he will probably feel even more resentful that he has been banished to the more public surroundings of Sandringham.
“This will obviously make Andrew more nervous about going out, but he does always appear to have at least one bodyguard with him — and the fact is, he escaped without harm. But this has proved that Mountbatten-Windsor is a target and needs security. And I don’t think he will let the King forget it.”

The incident also comes after the Crown Prosecution Service said last month that prosecutors were “providing early investigative advice” to the police as they carry out their inquiries into Andrew’s links to Jeffrey Epstein.
The former Duke of York was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office over his connections with the paedophile financier. He was later released under investigation.
Andrew, who became the first senior royal in modern history to be arrested, is accused of sharing sensitive information with Epstein while serving as the UK’s trade envoy.
The former duke, who is eighth in line to the throne, was detained on his 66th birthday following allegations that he shared reports of official visits to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore with disgraced financier Epstein. He has vehemently denied any wrongdoing over his Epstein links.
And Jennie added: “This must have been a frightening experience which will have shocked Andrew and the rest of his family. I don’t think we should wish this on anyone.
“One of the biggest dangers to any member of the royal family has always been the lone protester or stalker – the late Queen at Trooping, Charles and a gunman in Australia, Anne and the attempted kidnap.
“I imagine there may have been some communication, if not a direct conversation, between Charles and Andrew, and I can picture his other siblings picking up the phone to check that he’s ok. He is, after all, still their brother.”
