The Venice Biennale, the art world’s most prestigious international exhibition, is underway, opening to the public on Saturday after several days of previews.
Under this year’s theme, “In Minor Keys” — an invitation to reconnect with “art’s natural habitats”: “the emotional, the visual, the sensory” — the Biennale’s main exhibition halls are showcasing a vast array of works by 110 artists and collectives.
Crowds have begun descending on the city to take in the art and associated social events.
