Mamma Mia! The Princess of Wales is heading to Italy to take “her life’s work” to the next level, and she’s making quite the impressione!
Catherine will be jetting to the city of Reggio Emilia in northern Italy from May 13-14, where she will spend time with educators, parents, children and business leaders. It will be her first official solo visit abroad since February 2022, when she visited Copenhagen, Denmark, to learn from the country’s world-leading approach to early childhood development.
Kensington Palace has described the trip as a fact-finding mission, during which the Princess will explore the philosophical foundations of the Reggio Emilia approach.
The Reggio tactic emphasises nature as the third teacher alongside caregivers and the environment that surrounds the child, which is part of the reason Catherine has been drawn to the approach.
She has waxed lyrical about the idea that nature is vital for our growth, and given that her belief and the Reggio approach go so neatly hand in hand, it’s a match made in heaven.
Catherine last travelled overseas with work in December 2022, when she went to Boston, USA, with her husband for his Earthshot Prize award ceremony. She has also conducted two brief trips to Marseille, France, for the Rugby World Cup in the autumn of 2023 and went to the Crown Prince of Jordan’s wedding in Amman in June 2023; these are not considered official foreign tours.
She’s heading to Italy to quite literally see how they build better humans from day one, and I have a feeling she’s going to do a supreme job. Brava, Catherine, brava!

King of the Cakes

Prince William was King of the Cakes during a visit to a family-run farm in North Yorkshire on Tuesday, when he stopped off at a local cafe to get a selection of cakes for his hosts. He may have headed north to understand the challenges facing rural areas today, but before they got down to brass tacks, a few restorative sips of tea and some sweet treats were very much needed.
“The spread of cakes down there was simply exceptional,” William said with gusto. “This thing here, that is just phenomenal. That is a Twix mountain, calorie grenade. I had my eye on the chocolate brownie. I said, ‘Help me out with a bunch of farmers’, and they said, ‘Here you go’. That Twix thing is insane. If I ate that, I’d be in the gym for a week.” He knew his audience, of course, because William only had one answer when he was quizzed on how he likes his tea: “the Yorkshire way”.
Prince Harry’s inheritance questions

Despite being left eye-watering sums of money that most of us can only dream of, the latest whispers from the Montecito echo chamber claim that Harry and Meghan are now having to “cut back” on their spending, with their number of full-time employees reportedly dropping from 16 to just five.
An astonishing feat, really, given the multi-million-pound inheritance he was left by his mother and another huge, tax-free windfall that the Queen Mother left him when he turned 21 – not forgetting the healthy £7million top-up from her trust fund when he reached the big 4-0 less than two years ago. And, of course, there’s their multi-million dollar deals with everyone from Netflix to publishing houses that have given Harry the platform to exploit his family and every strain of “genetic pain” he has ever felt.
King Charles dodges Andrew

King Charles put his feet up for a well-earned break at Wood Farm in Sandringham after his triumphant US State Visit. Before getting back to work, the monarch enjoyed a little break in Norfolk at the beloved royal home where his disgraced brother Andrew was arrested not three months ago. Andrew had dug his heels in and stayed at Wood Farm far longer than anyone thought, but finally made the permanent move to his new Marsh Farm home. What a relief that the King can have his private bolthole back.

After months of endless bad news and drama from the York family, there’s finally some hope of a fresh start on the horizon! Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, announced that they are expecting their third child this summer. The new addition to the Royal Family will be 15th in line to the throne and a younger sibling of the couple’s sons, August and Ernest, but will the birth tempt granny Sarah Ferguson out of hiding? We will wait and see.
