BOISE, Idaho (CBS2) — Boise is set to host Idaho’s largest pop culture event this spring as Gem State Comic Con returns to Expo Idaho for a three-day celebration of comics, movies, TV, video games, anime, cosplay, sci-fi, and fantasy.
Organizers describe Gem State Comic Con as “Idaho’s premier pop culture and comic convention,” calling it “a true Idaho tradition” and a “laid-back, non-corporate, locally-run event” created “by fans, for fans.”
Gem State Comic Con 2026 is scheduled for May 15-17 at Expo Idaho in Boise. Attendees will be able to meet celebrity guests, shop from local vendors, chat with artists, cosplay, play games, and attend panels.
Celebrity panelists listed for the event include Alexis Tipton, Amber Lee Connors, Jewel Staite, Sean Maher, Adam Baldwin, Sylvester McCoy, Sophie Aldred, Phil LaMarr, and Ryan Drummond.
Organizers say the goal is to create “an unforgettable experience for families and friends,” bringing the community together through shared fun and excitement.
