Last year saw Austrian singer JJ win the competition, after it was held in Basel, Switzerland, with the UK’s Remember Monday coming in 19th place with 88 points after performing What The Hell Just Happened? The UK is now being represented by electronic music artist and tech creator Look Mum No Computer, who will be performing Eins, Zwei, Drei. The Song Contest has been mired in controversy so far, with a number of countries withdrawing their applicants and boycotting over Israel’s participation, and Eurovision 2026 will now only includes 25 performers in the grand final.
As usual, the show is being presented on the BBC by Graham Norton, and hosted live by Austrian stars, Victoria Swarovski and Michael Ostrowski, before Strictly Come Dancing star and 2026 Jury Spokesperson La Voix delivers the UK’s 12 points.
However, interrupting his usual Eurovision commentary, Graham was forced to address some blunders. During the show, it was revealed a cameraperson fell over as Czechia’s act performed.
Daniel Zizka had been singing Crossroads, but as it came to an end, Graham took a moment to mention the blunders.
He said: “A great performance vocally, but quite a few technical problems there. That did not happen in any of the rehearsals, the distorted picture. And I think the cameraman inside the mirrors, I think he fell? I’m not quite sure but Czechia won’t be happy about that.”
As he introduced the next act, Graham added: “But the show goes on!”
Ahead of the Eurovision final, Daniel Zizka spoke about what he hoped to achieve from his performance.
He said: “Eurovision is a huge platform and a big show. But what I mainly want to bring there is music and emotion.
“I don’t want to compete hidden behind flashiness and spectacle. I want to stand firmly behind who I am as an artist.”
The Eurovision Song Contest Grand Final is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
