Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey, who are meeting in the ring on May 16, are both married to former fighters.
Rousey’s husband is former UFC fighter Travis Browne, and Carano’s husband is Kevin Ross, who is described by People as “a retired Muay Thai fighter and kickboxer.” According to People, Carano revealed in a press conference before the Rousey fight that she had “moved up to Montana” and was married.

Carano’s announced came as somewhat of a surprise. “I actually moved up to Montana,” she said in an Instagram reel that captured her comments. “I live on a farm. I got married.”
A reporter responded, “Congrats” as applause broke out.
“I got married to my first and last love, Kevin Ross,” she told reporters. “And it was the best thing I’ve ever done. And that’s probably what people wanna know. So now you all know. I’m married.” She held up a hand with a ring and smiled and laughed.
In 2025, Ross shared a collage of photos showing him with Carano and wrote, “24 years ago today you walked into my life and changed me forever. You grabbed a hold of my heart and soul and it never let go. My sun, my moon, my starlit sky. I love you then, now and forever and ever ❤️.”

As a fighter, Ross is called the “Soul Assassin,” according to his bio. Ross “is an American Muay Thai fighter and kickboxer who has also competed in professional boxing, shootboxing, MMA & San Shou. He was the inaugural Bellator kickboxing featherweight world champion,” that bio reads.
“His previous achievements include the Lion Fight super lightweight world champion. WBC Muay Thai super lightweight international champion and welterweight national champion. United States Muay Thai Federation welterweight champion and FIDAM welterweight national champion of Mexico,” it says.
According to the bio, “Kevin was born in Reading, Pennsylvania July 27, 1980. He spent much of his youth moving all around the country until finally ending up in Las Vegas in 1995. Alcoholism and partying completely took over his life until one day he finally decided to face all his fears, turn his life around and go after his lifelong dream of becoming a fighter.”
Adds the biography: “In December 2010 Ross was Voted Muay Thai North American Fighter of the year. Always a crowd pleaser who lives up to his quote, ‘I’d rather lose an exciting fight than win a boring one.'”

Carano’s best known relationship before getting married was with Superman actor Henry Cavill, but they broke up in 2014, according to E! Online.
That publication reported that Carano and Cavill had an off-and-on again relationship, noting, “The two were spotted sharing glasses of red wine on a romantic date in Rome in October 2013, which seemed to cement their status as on-again lovers.”
They even adopted a puppy together, but the relationship didn’t last.
