Actors, directors, writers, stylists, and public figures alike have all flocked to France for the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival. But nobody has quite brought that Hollywood movie-star drama to the red carpet quite like Demi Moore.
Attending the premiere of Paper Tiger on Saturday, May 16, the actor said the bigger the better with a voluminous hot-pink gown that demanded the camera’s full attention. Designed by Matières Fécales as part of the label’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection, the layered piece was formed with a massive tulle skirt, which peeked out from the twisted satin overlay. This outer piece of fabric appeared to be unraveling from the dress, with rips and raw hems adding a deconstructed feel.

An oversize bow was the finishing touch, really capturing the number in the space between debutante perfection and something slightly darker and more dramatic. What could be more perfect for a movie premiere?

“When Demi and I were brainstorming about Cannes I sent her Matières Fécales’s collection and said I thought it could be perfect,” stylist Brad Goreski shared. “She immediately sent me back a screen grab of the pink gown and said, ‘Can we get this?’”
“We knew it was perfect the minute she tried it on,” he continued, thanking the design team for their work on the gown, which traveled from “Paris to LA back to Paris and to Cannes finally!”

We’re only halfway through May, but Matières Fécales has already had a busy month, dressing both María Zardoya and Sarah Paulson for the 2026 Met Gala. At Cannes, the house also provided some satin bow pumps from its collaboration with Christian Louboutin, covering Moore in even more hot pink. The star wore the full look with dazzling Chopard jewelry. It’s every Barbie’s dream!
