Christopher Abbott spoke about partner Aubrey Plaza’s pregnancy for the first time on the “Today” show Monday.
The “Girls” alum, 40, gushed over the “very exciting” news after Jenna Bush Hager broached the subject.
“Can we say congratulations?” the latter asked. “You’re expecting a babe.”

The actor, who portrays Biff Loman in the Broadway revival of “Death of a Salesman,” quipped, “I thought [you meant] for my Tony nom!”
Clarifying that he was “kidding,” Abbott joked that there is “too much” going on in his life.
News broke last month that he and Plaza have a little one on the way, due in the fall.
“It was a beautiful surprise after an emotional year,” a source told People in April, referencing the January 2025 suicide of Plaza’s husband, Jeff Baena.

The insider added that the “Parks and Recreation” alum and Abbott felt “very blessed” to be starting a family.
The actress confirmed her pregnancy in a “SmartLess” podcast episode the following week.
“There is a baby inside of me right now,” she said at the time. “I’ve always wanted to see what that’s all about, you know?
“It just seems so interesting, that whole thing,” Plaza continued about parenthood.

While the comedian continued discussing her pregnancy during her “Kevin” press tour, she has yet to give any insight into her romance with Abbott.
The duo was first romantically linked in the summer of 2025.
They co-starred in “Danny and the Deep Blue Sea” Off-Broadway in 2023 — and met filming “Black Bear” three years prior.
At the time, Plaza was married to Baena, whom she wed in 2021 after a decade together.

The former couple separated in September 2024, with the director dying by suicide four months later.
Plaza addressed the “awful” tragedy on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast in August 2025, saying she was “functioning” and felt “very grateful to be moving through the world” despite her “daily struggle” with grief.
