Meghan Markle wants to fix her relationship with Queen Camilla when she and Prince Harry visit the U.K. this summer, a source tells In Touch.
“Meghan knows she’s coming at this from the bottom floor, or more like the basement, because Camilla openly hates her,” admits the source. “But she says she’s made up her mind to try and she’s going to throw herself into it and hope that her true intentions are seen.”
In the lead-up to their trip, “Meghan has been watching everything Camilla has been up to like a hawk, looking for some possible thing they could connect on,” the source reveals, “and she’s hit upon Camilla’s mission to end domestic violence and support victims of it.”
It’s a cause the Duchess of Sussex, 44, has supported in the past too, notes the source, “so bringing it up and praising Camilla for it when they see each other next won’t be disingenuous, which Meghan says is crucial if her compliment is going to pass the smell test with Camilla.”

It won’t be easy.
“She knows Camilla will be looking to find fault with her and brand her fake,” notes the source.
In Tom Bower‘s new book Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family, the former BBC journalist alleges, per The Times, that the queen consort, 78, told a friend that Meghan had “brainwashed” Harry, 41.
“Does she want to grovel at Camilla’s feet? No, but she’s savvy enough to realize it’s what’s needed if she’s going to make any progress,” the source admits.
After all, King Charles III‘s wife holds a “huge amount of influence over who gets access to the family and the decisions that are made,” says the source, and “Meghan knows that.”
