Royal fans have pinpointed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s “biggest problem” after the latest wave of backlash against them. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have kept themselves busy recently with a four-day tour in Australia last month, and trips to Ukraine and Switzerland in May.
The Duke of Sussex gave an impassioned speech about the war in Ukraine, while he also released a comment piece against antisemitic and anti-Muslim hate. Meanwhile, Meghan travelled to Switzerland last weekend and spoke about children’s safety online. But despite their efforts, the couple’s actions received mixed reactions from fans online, who mostly criticised them.
Now, users on Reddit have reached a verdict on why the Sussexes’ efforts are met with backlash, with one user pointing out that they’re “bad actors”.
They said in a post: “Their acting is just that bad, and people are sick of their over-the-top performative expressions and empty words.
“And the most ironic part is that acting is Meghan’s craft. She just can’t act and neither can Harry.”
Another one added: “Actually, their biggest problem is that they aren’t genuine.
“As they aren’t genuine, they could pretend to be – which leads us to the OP. In addition to the bad acting, they can’t keep up the façade – so they’re not method actors, like some of the better actors.”
A third one commented: “Bad actors, not team players…”
A fourth one wrote: “They are bad actors, toxic characters, pointless and unintelligent.”
It comes as the couple celebrated their eighth wedding anniversary on Tuesday.
Meghan marked the day by posting a number of previously unseen snaps from their wedding, before posting more candid videos of their morning alongside their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
