Kate Middleton and Prince William hold the fate of the royal family in their hands.
According to author Catherine Mayer, the Prince and Princess of Wales are taking on more responsibility as they begin to shape the coming decades of the monarchy.
“King Charles III is the incumbent, but she and William are the future,” the writer told People. “There is no institution without them.”

Without Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, William, Kate and the rest of The Firm are working overtime.
“Princess Anne and the other senior working royals are all stretched thin — and none of them are young,” Mayer said. “William and Catherine carry the whole thing.”
Luckily, the former Duchess of Cambridge is fully back to her duties after announcing remission from cancer in 2025. Recently, Kate traveled to Italy to promote early childhood development.
“There’s no denying that everyone concerned has been missing the princess’s star quality,” royal expert Russell Myers told the outlet. “She is a huge draw wherever she goes.”
“Catherine is undoubtedly a central force in the monarchy’s popularity and ability to achieve its goals and move forward. There is no better time for her to return,” the commentator said.
While the future king and queen of England are throwing themselves into their work, an insider claimed Queen Camilla doesn’t want to divide up the attention.
A source told Closerthat the ex-Duchess of Cornwall doesn’t wish to “share the spotlight willingly” with her stepson and his wife.
Camilla reportedly told Kate and William to “cool their jets” because there are “no plans” for her and His Majesty to step down despite Charles’ cancer battle.
