Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is coming to terms with the mess he’s made of his life.
According to an insider, the former Duke of York opened up to an employee about how he was feeling after being stripped of his titles, evicted from Royal Lodge and arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office over his connections to Jeffrey Epstein.
“I won’t try to kid you. My life has been turned upside down and often I feel a deep-rooted sense of being alone in the world,” a source told The Mirror that Andrew admitted to a staffer.

“I need to establish new routines and networks. Perhaps I’ll end up doing it somewhere else,” the 66-year-old allegedly said.
“It’s been very hard to deal with. The hardest thing was how it affected my family and put so much burden on them,” Andrew allegedly noted. “For that, I’m sorry beyond words and unfortunately, will have to bear that regret for the rest of my life.”
“Money isn’t an issue because I’ve made some shrewd business deals over the years that afford me a good lifestyle,” the disgraced royal allegedly continued. “I’ve been completely misunderstood and I’m hopeful that one day the naked truth will finally let out. I won’t lie to you, this has been the most distressing experience of my life.”
Not only has Andrew been mired in scandal, but he was recently accosted by a masked man while walking his dogs around Sandringham.

“Alex Jenkinson, aged 39 and of Stowmarket, Suffolk, has since been charged with two counts of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior to harass someone or cause alarm or distress and failing to provide a specimen of blood in custody,” Norfolk Police told Fox News Digital.
Despite the majority of the father of two’s privileges being removed, commentator Helena Chard claimed Andrew wants to ramp up his protection detail.
“There are rumors he wants his old security back, although he was unscathed,” the journalist told the outlet.
“His private protection officer dealt with the confrontation and aftermath,” Chard continued. “King Charles III is understood to be funding Andrews ‘exile’ at Marsh Farm, including former royal protection cops. They are not armed. Allegedly some stay in a cabin in the back garden.”

While Andrew might be regretful and scared, commentator Rafe Heydel-Mankoo thinks his relatives won’t leave him out to dry.
“It’s clear that His Majesty [King Charles] and the rest of the royal family care about their brother, their uncle, their cousin,” the expert told GB News.
“This situation… intersects family loyalty, public outrage and then you’ve got the survival of the monarchy, so you have three competing elements there,” Heydel-Mankoo said.
“Despite everything that’s happened, he is part of their family and there’s obviously always going to be concern for his well-being and for his security,” he emphasized.

“But at the same time, the monarchy has to be protected, and he understands,” he added.
In 2025, His Majesty finally made the decision to remove his younger brother of his honors as the U.S. Department of Justice revealed more connections between Andrew and Epstein.
“His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the Style, Titles and Honors of Prince Andrew,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
“Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence,” they continued.

“Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease and he will move to alternative private accommodation,” The Firm said. “These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations against him.”
In February 2026, Charles issued a statement after his sibling was taken into custody for allegedly giving the late criminal information while he was the U.K.’s trade envoy.
“I have learned with the deepest concern the news about Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and suspicion of misconduct in public office,” he said. “What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities.”
