Some celebrities prefer to keep their plastic surgery procedures to themselves, but others aren’t shy about sharing the details of every nip and tuck.
While cosmetic tweakments appear to be the new norm, some famous faces are paying as much as $100,000 to try to reverse the signs of aging with a facelift.
Some A-listers don’t just stop at one, either. Sharon Osbourne has had four facelifts, while Kris Jenner and Jane Fonda have had two apiece.
However, for some, a facelift is not the anti-aging answer they had hoped for, as one star claimed she looked like “Cyclops” after going under the knife for five-and-a-half hours.

Rosie O’Donnell had a lower deep plane facelift in January 2026, despite years of publicly condemning plastic surgery, because she saw her face as “melting” rather than just aging after losing 50lbs.
“I used to feel very strongly about facelifts. Not casually – morally. I had assigned myself as head of all women who would never – ever,” she wrote on her Substack. “I thought it was a betrayal. Of feminism. Of aging. Of our team of women worldwide. And then I lost 50 pounds…”
The Now and Then actress added that she didn’t want more plastic surgery, and that she still looked like herself, so much so that her loved ones didn’t notice her post-facelift transformation. “I wanted to still be me, just…less haunted,” she wrote. “And I do look like me.”

Barry Manilow opened up about cosmetic surgery in a new interview with the Los Angeles Times in May 2026, revealing that he doesn’t need to rely on Botox because he’s had a facelift.
“I must say: There was one time when we lived in L.A. that I did do a facelift,” he admitted, before alluding to other cosmetic procedures, which he did not specify. “But after that, it’s just been a little here, a little there. ‘Work’ is like a facelift, and I only had one of those. The rest of it — I see something falling down, sure, I’ll do that.”

Kris Jenner had her second facelift in August 2025, 14 years after her first. “I decided to do this facelift because I want to be the best version of myself, and that makes me happy,” she shared with Vogue Arabia.
“Just because you get older, it doesn’t mean you should give up on yourself. If you feel comfortable in your skin and you want to age gracefully – meaning you don’t want to do anything – then don’t do anything. But for me, this is ageing gracefully. It’s my version.”

Jane Fonda is another star who has had two facelifts – one in her 40s and another in her 70s – but she has since sworn off plastic surgery. “I had a facelift and I stopped because I don’t want to look distorted. I’m not proud of the fact that I had [one],” she told Vogue in August 2022.
In her 2018 documentary, Jane Fonda in Five, she also expressed her regret at going under the knife. “On one level, I hate the fact that I’ve had the need to alter myself physically to feel that I’m OK,” she said. “I wish I wasn’t like that.”
“I can’t pretend that I’m not vain, but there isn’t going to be any more plastic surgery,” she told Elle Canada in 2020. “I’m not going to cut myself up anymore.”

Sharon Osbourne hasn’t had just one facelift, but four. She revealed in her 2013 autobiography, Unbreakable, that she had a facelift in 1987 and 2002. She then went under the knife for a third time in October 2019, but she was unhappy with the results, so she had a “full facelift,” which took five-and-a-half hours in October 2021.
“That was the worst thing that I ever did. I looked like Cyclops,” she shared with The Times in December 2023. “I had one eye here and one eye there and my mouth was all skewwhiff, and then I had to wait for that to heal before I could go back and have it corrected.”
The recovery experience was so traumatic for Sharon that she swore never to repeat it. “That one put me off and it frightens me,” she told The Sun in 2023. “I really pushed it with the last facelift and I am now like, no more.” She added: “Time is against me, I cannot have another facelift.”

Courtney Love revealed that she had a facelift before she was 40 because, apparently, Goldie Hawn told her to. “Nobody ask me about ageing gracefully, pleeease,” she said in 2014 to the Canadian magazine Fashion. “C’mon, I took advice from Goldie Hawn when she said I should get a facelift at 35!”

KISS bassist Gene Simmons and his wife Shannon Tweed had his-and-her facelifts in 2007. “I’d thought about it before,” he told People that year. “I was aware I had jowls.” Shannon joked that she underwent a facelift herself because, “I didn’t want him to look younger than me.”
Gene, who also had an eyelid lift and liposuction on his pectoral area during the 11-hour surgery, described what it was like to watch the procedure back for his A&E reality program, Gene Simmons Family Jewels: “I saw Dr. Ryan reach under my skin and massage the muscles of my face. It was like my face was peeled off and slung over my shoulder.”
