Over in Beverly Hills, it was a mother-daughter date night for Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian, who headed to Spago for a rare one-on-one evening. And for the special occasion, they both went with looks in keeping with their respective styles—resulting in a bit of a mismatch moment that felt all too relatable for mothers and daughters everywhere.

For Kardashian, the night out called for a figure-hugging chocolate-brown number from Gianfranco Ferre’s Fall 2004 collection. The vintage look was designed with a choker accent and long-sleeve lace under-layer, with a black harness adding a bold detail. From there, a long, skin-tight skirt draped down to the floor, and a coordinating shawl brought it all together. The star went equally bold with the rest of her look, styling her hair in a slicked-back updo and sharp eyebrows, long dark lashes, heavy blush, and glossy mauve lips.

Next to her, Jenner opted for a sweet Valentino minidress, crafted from cream-colored wool crepe with contrasting black piping and a satin bow. The piece featured padded shoulders and oversize patch pockets. She wore it with nude fishnet tights and two-tone cap-toe pumps in black and white. In her hand, she carried a white Coach bag—the Jonie—recognizable for its slouchy crescent-moon curve. Black sunglasses and diamond studs finished off the momager’s look, and she added a bit of highlighter and gloss of her own.

The duo left the siblings, kids, and partners at home, enjoying a nice night out just the two of them.
