By the end of 2026, the Oscar winner will have released five movies this year alone. On August 14, her sci-fi thriller, “The End of Oak Street,” will be her fourth him of the year to hit theaters. And it looks terrifying.
The trailer opens with a dog, outside, getting bathed in some sort of ominous light. My brain went to aliens, but the reality may be scarier. The next morning, Christian Convery, who plays Brian Platt, asks his family, “Did anybody else see that weird light last night?” Upon everyone’s confusion, he explains, “The wind was blowing all crazy. Starbuck [the dog] was freaked out and barking.”

His sister, Audrey, played by “My Old Ass” star Maisy Stella, suggests it could have been a helicopter, while his dad, played by Ewan McGregor, jokes that a UFO may have been the culprit. But was it really just a joke?

When Anne Hathaway’s Denise Platt and her husband realize the whole neighborhood has lost power and water, they try to escape, only to realize there’s no way out; the street has been cut off in the middle, and if they keep driving, they’ll fall off a cliff. “I think that our neighborhood, our house, our whole street has moved,” Hathaway says in a voice-over.

The J.J. Abrams-produced film’s synopsis reads, “After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.”

But surviving seems difficult, as the trailer features the family running from dinosaurs. Yes, in the present, there are dinosaurs terrorizing the neighbors. “What are we going to do?” Convery’s character asks. “We’re going to survive,” McGregor responds.
