We already knew that Cillian Murphy was returning to one post-apocalyptic horror franchise in the shape of the 28 Years Later series, but the Irish actor is also reprising his role as Emmett in A Quiet Place Part III.

Billed as a conclusion to the main series, John Krasinski’s upcoming film continues the journey of the Abbotts, with Evelyn (Emily Blunt), Regan (Millicent Simmonds) and Marcus (Noah Jupe) vying for safety.

The previous instalment, released in 2020, saw the family encounter former friend Emmett, with the group finding some solace after discovering a small colony of survivors on a remote island.

With various weaknesses of the hostile aliens being found, it remains to be seen how the narrative shapes up for A Quiet Place Part III, but we do have our first glimpse at Murphy on the set as he reprises his role as Emmett.

He can be seen in various photos alongside Jack O’Connell, who joins the franchise in the upcoming film. Though the exact nature of his role is yet to be disclosed, it does look like he’ll be playing a soldier for the National Guard.

Katy O’Brian and Jason Clarke are also newcomers to the series, though their roles are currently unknown. Alex Wolff, meanwhile, is reprising his role as Reuben from prequel A Quiet Place: Day One.

Not much is currently known about the upcoming horror film, which is due to be released next year, though writer-director Krasinski – who also starred in the first entry in the series – has confirmed that it will complete the story of the Abbotts.
