Tina O’Brien’s teenage daughter is making a name for herself on television in her own right.
Scarlett Thomas is the daughter of the Coronation Street actress and Ryan Thomas, who also featured in the same ITV soap for 16 years in the role of Jason Grimshaw.
The youngster has already started forging her own path in the industry. In 2023, she made her small screen debut alongside her uncle Adam Thomas in BBC school drama Waterloo Road, taking on the role of Izzy Charles, and swiftly drew praise for her assured performance in front of the camera.
Proud mum Tina, who portrays Sarah Platt in Corrie, previously voiced her delight at the time, posting on Instagram: “So proud of @scarlettjthomas26, she’s worked so hard on Waterloo Road and I’ve absolutely loved watching her portrayal of Izzy.’ She added: ” She went on to say: “Wonderful to see her talent recognised by @tvtimesmagazine as she’s been nominated for an award.”

Beyond the screen, Scarlett has amassed a considerable online following, routinely posting singing clips on TikTok. She currently boasts more than 367,600 followers on the platform and a further 247,000 fans on Instagram, with both accounts launched when she turned 16, reports the Mirror.
Earlier this year, Scarlett’s father Ryan couldn’t hide his delight after she secured a major record deal at just 17, representing a landmark moment for the next generation of one of soap’s most recognisable families.
The former Dancing on Ice winner announced the news on social media back in January, describing the occasion as one of the most meaningful days of his life. Sharing a video and photographs from the day Scarlett put pen to paper, Ryan posted: “Today is one of the best days of my life. Watching my little girl sign a record deal is a moment I will cherish forever.”

He continued by reflecting on how destiny seemed to have influenced the poignant occasion, writing: “The stars were all aligned today. As we turned up at the restaurant to sign the deal Scarlett said ‘I’ve been here before dad’ and then we found this video.”
Ryan also posted throwback clips of Scarlett performing at the identical location five years previously, when she was merely 12. He added: “Stood on the chair in front of all her family singing A Million Dreams and here we are five years later making her dream come true.”
Scarlett subsequently confirmed the announcement herself, posting images of her signing the contract and revealing what the chance represents to her.

She posted: “Wow what an experience I have had so far, and what an experience I’m about to have, I am beyond grateful for this amazing opportunity.”
The actress added: “Today was a life-changing moment for me. I’ve been working hard behind the scenes, but I can now finally share it with you all. I can’t wait for what this year brings, hopefully some amazing music.”
Scarlett has signed with Big Family Music, with the agreement reportedly concluded during the restaurant gathering Scarlett and Ryan shared online.
