Bring Them Down, the acclaimed Irish thriller starring Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott, has just landed a new streaming home in the UK. With a taut plot and strong performances, this is one to watch over the weekend.
Written and directed by Christopher Andrews, the film is set against a “harsh landscape” in the western part of Ireland, with the drama following two warring families as they quarrel over land.
Michael and Jack are the two farmers at the centre of the feud, with a notable theft triggering a chain of events that lead to a slew of violent incidents. As tensions rise, both families are changed forever.

Bring Them Down garnered critical acclaim upon its theatrical release in 2025, with Rotten Tomatoes currently reporting a mightily-impressive approval rating of 89% from 99 reviews.
The Observer wrote: “An impressive first feature from Christopher Andrews… a bruising tale of vengeance accompanied by a savage, percussive score by Hannah Peel that sounds as though it was played on scrap metal and abandoned farm machinery.”
“Unnerving and tense, Andrews’s script is tinged with a film noir appreciation for the all-corrosive effects of man’s iniquity. No one has clean hands here, and no one seems destined for a happy ending,” penned The Wall Street Journal.
“It’s a barnstorming feature debut for Andrews, and for Abbott it’s yet more evidence of what a compelling, underrated screen presence he is,” opined Little White Lies, while Chicago Sun-Times lauded the “magnificent performances”.
