Lewis Hamilton says there should be a limit to how much wealth one person can have:

"One of the things that I struggle with every day is that there is such a disparity between the wealthy and the poorā€

"When you drive around LA there's still so many people living on the streets. You shouldn't be able to have billions"

"I think there should be a limit to how much you can have because there's enough to go around for everyoneā€

It’s deeply ironic for ANY Formula 1 driver to say something like this, but especially so when they’re dating one of the few people wealthier than they are.

      Also, fuck Jay Shetty.

well to be technical her net worth is under $2B, so she doesn’t have billions haha

    3. “There should be a limit to how much you can have, and it should be somewhere slightly above what I have” I’m guessing?

      Classic.

A better interviewer would have followed this up with asking why his primary residence is in tax haven Monaco.

    5. Ok-Spinach9250 on

Any good interviewer would then say ā€œso what are you doing about it?ā€ If you’re against wealth hoarding, but you and the people you associate with are the 1%….

    6. I believe him. But at the same time this is the guy who wears $1200 weird black and green rubber boots.

Isn’t his net worth over $500 million?

I’m sorry, any wealthy person criticizing billionaires will always look like an absolute fool to me. YOU’RE ALSO FILTHY RICH. YOU’RE ALSO HOARDING MASSIVE AMOUNTS OF WEALTH. People say there are no ethical billionaires, but mega multi millionaires are somehow where we draw the line?

The next rich person that says something stupid like this wanting a pat on the back… donate your wealth then we’ll talk. NO ONE should be allowed to hoard massive amounts of wealth while people sleep in the streets and go hungry. While average citizens are one paycheck away from losing everything. Just save it.

I wonder how he’s gonna feel hearing her antics today/yesterday

I mentioned this yesterday, but it’s always interesting to see celebs who still haven’t internalized that they aren’t what they were pre-fame.

I don’t know enough about him to know if he’s straight up putting on a show or if he just doesn’t get it. I’d hope for the latter because he makes too much and has access to professional who can help him not seem this dumb on camera, unprovoked.

Man every time he reels me in a bit (his joyful support of kimi is sweet! It’s giving big brother!) it’s followed up with something like this. Put your money where your mouth is Lewis and move out of Monaco.

    11. brilliant_bauhaus on

I will give him credit that he does more for social causes than probably any other driver on the grid right now. However, saying that and also living in Monaco while being worth hundreds of millions of dollars and dating a billionaire is tone deaf.

I would think at this stage of his career it would be entirely possible to forego his entire Ferrari salary to charity donations. Would love to see mega millionaires do this since they’re able to have other streams of income and living in Monaco means he doesn’t pay tax on it.

This is the rags to riches, underdog to mega champion, the one and only F1 guy who grew up poor, he’s no Lance Troll!

Ā **But** OTOH get the hell out of here, you cant keep calling yourself one of us when you’re rich af now! AND he’s got bad taste. Smh, case closed!

E: lmao, its a joke comment, do I need to add /s? I know Verstappen is on top if thats what someones cringing at, well not his week that is.

Fastest way to get people to dig up dirt on you is to date someone your fans don’t like, I’ve learned so many negative things about Lewis Hamilton since he stepped out with that woman

    15. StrangerFruit on

I’ve been a fan of LH for so long. Followed his career and celebrated all the ways he’s taken a stand and used his voice for important causes.

This path he’s taking calls everything I mentioned above into question. Makes me nauseous

    16. Couldnotbehelpd on

Jay Shetty pretty much exists only to tell billionaires that, spiritually, they deserve their money.

The fact that people listen to that total fraud is astounding.

Love when celebs say stuff like this when I know they own at least one watch worth more than my house.
