Savannah Guthrie Tears Up Explaining Her Return To ‘Today’ After Mom Nancy’s Disappearance

Savannah Guthrie is doing her best to carry on four months after her mother, Nancy Guthrie was reported missing. The 54-year-old journalist got emotional while co-hosting “Today with Jenna & Sheinelle” on June 8, opening up to her longtime friend about how she’s coping with everything since returning to the morning news show. Savannah did clarify that although she may be cheerful at work, she hasn’t forgotten the pain and heartache she’s been through. She also told Jenna she still cries coming to and from work every day as she copes with the disappearance of her mother. Savannah returned to the “Today” show on April 6, two months after her mother, Nancy, was reported missing on Feb. 1. Authorities have previously indicated that they believe Nancy’s disappearance was the result of a kidnapping, however, no suspects have been detained.
