Over the weekend, the royal family expanded as Peter Phillips, the son of Princess Anne and oldest grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth, tied the knot with NHS nurse Harriet Sperling at All Saints Church in Kemble, England. There was no shortage of royal family members on hand to celebrate the couple’s big day, and Kate Middleton brought one more into the mix with her outfit, which included a sweet, sentimental nod to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana.

Kate wore a creamy-beige Roland Mouret dress for the event, complete with button front detains and a belted waist, all paired with a shallow, wide-brimmed boater hat. To add a bit of sparkle, Kate wore drop Kiki McDonough earrings, a pearly pendant, and—the crowning achievement for keen-eyed royal jewelry fans—a three-strand pearl bracelet that previously belonged to Prince William’s mother, Princess Diana.

Princess Diana notably wore the bracelet along with what became known as her “Elvis dress” in 1989.

Designed by Nigel Milne in 1988, the pearl and diamond setting was a favorite of Diana’s and has been seen on Kate’s wrist numerous times throughout the years, including during her royal tours of Germany and the Caribbean, as well as to the G7 Summit in 2021.

The bracelet is far from the only piece from Diana’s jewelry box that has made its way into Kate’s collection. The first came even before she officially joined the royal family, in the form of Diana’s iconic sapphire engagement ring, but over the years, Kate has also favored several of Diana’s pearl baubles, including a set of diamond and pearl earrings that frequently adorn Kate’s lobes, a four-strand pearl choker, and, of course, the Cambridge Lover’s Knot Tiara, a former favorite of Princess Diana’s which has become one of Kate’s go-to toppers for State Visits.
