Pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo has revealed how she spent a day eating sausage rolls and drinking wine in Wales. The 23-year-old stunned supermarket staff at M&S and caused a stir when she she rocked up in Llandudno.
And the singer has now revealed that because of a credit card issue she could only buy two things on her trip to Wales.
Speaking to Jordan North on Capital Radio she described how she fell in love with one particular British dish, the sausage roll.
” I was in this tiny little town called Llandudno,” she said. “I had a credit card that didn’t work in any place that wasn’t America, and nobody took it and I had no food at the hotel. I was just wandering around Wales and I couldn’t find anything to eat, and then my card worked in a place that served sausage rolls, so I just ate sausage rolls for a whole day.”
The interviewer replied: “Oh, that’s such a like core memory of a sausage roll.”
Olivia continued: “Then I think like a pub took my card too, so I had like sausage rolls and like white wine. That’s like all I had that day. Kind of cool. Looking back kind of a great memory.”
Jordan added: “Quite chic. White wine and sausage rolls.”
Olivia said: “I mean, it’s a balanced meal.”
Llandudno M&S even captured the day out two years ago with a post on their Facebook page that said: “Olivia Rodrigo visiting our store was not on our 2024 bingo card.”
At the time she was dating actor Louis Partridge who has Welsh connections. For the latest TV and showbiz gossip sign up to our newsletter
