On Saturday, the royal family assembled for the Trooping the Colour, the public celebration of King Charles’s birthday. The Princess of Wales arrived for the big day in a horse-drawn carriage with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis. They met with Prince William and their extended family at the palace.

Catherine wore a baby blue Catherine Walker blazer dress, one of her favourite designers, paired with white pumps and a matching Philip Treacy hat. She also wore some special jewellery, including her Irish Guards brooch, Cassandra Goad earrings, and a three-strand pearl bracelet that originally belonged to the late Diana, Princess of Wales.

And in a very sweet mother-daughter moment, Princess Charlotte wore her own version of the Nigel Milne-designed piece, showing a three-strand pearl bracelet on her wrist as she waved to the crowd. The young princess was dressed in all white with a few blue details to tie her outfit to Catherine’s, as well as a white bow in her hair and matching ballet flats.

The two princes wore navy blue suits with pale blue ties to match. The children joined William and Catherine on the balcony to observe the celebrations, including a flypast from the Red Arrows above them.

There is also a parade that features over 1000 soldiers from the Household Division and King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, and hundreds of musicians who perform as they pass by Buckingham Palace in London. King Charles’s actual birthday is in November, but the event is traditionally celebrated in June.
