The Prince of Wales is the “best Papa in the world”, his wife and children have said as they mark his 44th birthday and Father’s day.
The Wales family shared an image of the Prince with Princess Charlotte to celebrate the occasions on Sunday, telling him: “We love you very much”.
The picture shows the Prince with his arm around his 11-year-old daughter at the palace after Trooping the Colour last weekend.
The social media post was accompanied by a message that read: “Happy birthday and Father’s Day to the best Papa in the World! We love you very much. C, G, C & L.”
The image was taken by Matt Porteous, one of the Waleses’ preferred photographers chosen to capture their lives away from the public eye.
The Prince’s birthday falls on Father’s Day by coincidence this year. The social media post is the only public element of an otherwise private celebration, which will see the family mark the day in their usual style at home.

The Royal family’s main social media account also shared an image of the King with Prince Phillip to mark Father’s day – Peter King
Prince William was born in 1982 and married Catherine Middleton in 2011, with the couple celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary earlier this year.
Their three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – now all attend school, with their elder son set to begin at Eton College in September.
The Prince speaks often about his role as a father and arranges his working diary around the school run.
He has described fatherhood as “life-changing” and “emotional,” saying: “You realise how precious life is and it puts it all in perspective.”
The Royal family’s main social media account also posted a photograph of a young King Charles with Prince Philip to mark Father’s day.
The accompanying message read: “Celebrating all Fathers, and thinking of those who wish they could be with their Dads today.”
Prince Philip died in 2021, aged 99.
