Keith Urban marked Nicole Kidman’s 59th birthday with a short public message months after their divorce was finalized.
The country singer’s birthday post read, “happy birthday nicole mary!!!!!!!!!!!!” The message appeared on a purple-and-teal background and used Kidman’s full first and middle name.
The note drew attention because it came after the former couple ended nearly two decades of marriage. People reported that Kidman and Urban finalized their divorce in Tennessee on Jan. 6, 2026.
Urban and Kidman married in 2006 and share two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret. The birthday greeting became one of his most visible public gestures toward Kidman since the split.
Urban Used Kidman’s Full Middle Name
Taste of Country noted that the message was unexpected because Urban and Kidman had not been seen publicly together since their split became news. Us Weekly reported that Kidman did not publicly respond to Urban’s Instagram Story.
Kidman Marked Her Birthday Outdoors
Kidman marked her birthday on Instagram with a nature photo and a thank-you note to fans. “Another trip around the sun ☀️💛. Thank you for all the birthday love xx. #SummerSolsticeBaby,” she wrote.
Her daughter Sunday Rose also shared a birthday tribute, posting a black-and-white photo of Kidman and writing, “No one I adore more,” according to InStyle. Kidman shares Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, with Urban.
The Divorce Was Finalized Earlier This Year
Kidman filed for divorce on Sept. 30, 2025, citing irreconcilable differences, according to Taste of Country. People reported that both sides waived child and spousal support, and court documents listed Kidman as the primary residential parent for their daughters.
Kidman later told Variety that she still considers Nashville home and remains focused on family. “We are a family,” she said. “That’s what we’ll continue to be.”
