After the New York Knicks won, some fans are wondering if some celebrity super fans could receive rings too.

But the decision would ultimately be up to Knicks owner James Dolan.

So the NBA typically covers 15 championship rings for active roster players.

When it comes to coaches, executives, support staff, and full-time front office employees, they also usually receive official team-issued rings, but it’s paid for by ownership.

Now, anyone outside of those categories, it is totally the discretion of Dolan if he wants to hand out additional rings, for example, to celebrity fans, former players, or arena staff.

But keep in mind, he’ll have to cover the cost of those rings also out of pocket.

And not all rings are the same.

Players and coaches generally receive the largest, most valuable versions, while celebrities and other recipients often get smaller, lower-tier rings.

So what should James Dolan do?
