Will Ferrell made a surprise appearance at a June 19 watch party for the World Cup knockout stage match between the United States and Australia.

The “Anchorman” star sauntered into a watch party in New York City wearing a golf visor and golf shirt — the guise of the lead character, Lonnie “The Hawk” Hawkins, in his upcoming Netflix show “The Hawk.” In the comedy series, which hits the streaming service on July 16, Ferrell plays a golf legend who chases sports immortality by winning the career Grand Slam.

A viral fan video shows Ferrell making his way through the bar and eventually leading revelers in cheers of “Hawk! Hawk! Hawk!”
