He will visit Jedburgh on Thursday, (July 2) to coincide with the Jethart Callant’s Festival.
As part of the engagement, he is expected to visit sites in the town such as Jedforest Bandstand, Jed Shed and the town square.
The king is also expected to meet members of the community as well as local businesses during the trip.
Additionally, he will watch a procession of horses led by the town’s Callant and a performance of a traditional reel.
The king will also be invited to start the game of hand ba’ which is traditionally played in the streets of the town.
The town was last visited by a member of the Royal Family when Princess Anne opened the Jedforest Bandstand in April 2006.
