Neon‘s Cannes in competition title, Paper Tiger, from James Gray, is getting a limited release on Nov. 13 before expanding nationwide on Nov. 20.

The news follows in the wake of Neon also dating their Cannes Palme D’Or winner Fjord from director Cristian Mungiu and starring Oscar nominees Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve for Oct. 9, the same frame the Palme-winning and Oscar-studio launched their best pictures Parasite and Anora.

Paper Tiger is loosely based on an incident in Gray’s life about when his family had a run-in with the Russian mafia during 1980s NYC. Miles Teller plays a straight-as-an-arrow, hardworking engineer patriarch. His ex-cop brother Adam Driver propositions him on a business scheme which thrusts them into conflict with the Russian mob. Scarlett Johansson plays Teller’s wife who has her own turmoil to contend with. The movie received a ten-minute standing ovation at its Cannes premiere.

On Nov. 20, Lionsgate is also bowing their prequel, Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. A24 also has a wide release going, with Amazon MGM Studios opening I Play Rocky.

Fjord follows an immigrant Romanian family living in Norway who are subject to an investigation and faces the scrutiny of the local judicial system.
