We might see the Royal family out and about regularly on public engagements, but it’s rare that we get a real insight into their lives behind the scenes. This is especially true when it comes to the Prince and Princess of Wales, and their three children; Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. However, in a recent interview, Prince William revealed plenty of details about the family’s surprisingly normal daily routines. He even revealed Princess Charlotte’s favourite singer, along with a song she particularly loves.

While speaking on a special cohosted episode of Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden last month, the Dad of three opened up about home life with the Wales’ and the most recent projects he was supporting while on the Isles of Scilly. He was also able to choose some songs to be played on the radio show that morning and one poignant choice was a song by Taylor Swift, which Prince William shared was inspired by his middle child.

‘Charlotte, my daughter, and Louis to be fair, but Charlotte particularly, is obsessed by Taylor Swift,’ Prince William said, while co-presenting the radio show. ‘We went to see her on her Eras tour and it was amazing.’ He chose a favourite of Princess Charlotte’s with ‘Opalite’ in her honour. Another song that Prince William played was ‘Where is my husband’ by Raye, and he even joked it was a question his wife, the Princess of Wales, ‘constantly asks’.

While co-presenting the morning show, Prince William revealed that Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis would be listening to the program live, while at home together getting ready for school. He added the Prince George would be already at school because he’d boarded there the night before. While on the airwaves, he took the opportunity to address his two youngest children directly saying, ‘Charlotte and Louis, if you’re listening make sure you’re on time please,’ and, ‘Make sure you’re not fighting over who’s listening to what this morning.’

Prince William also shared details about the family’s surprisingly relatable and, he admitted, ‘chaotic’ morning routine. Getting three children out of the house on a busy school morning is no easy feet, and the Prince revealed that he and the Princess of Wales have a clever trick for making sure the kids are entertained in the car – jam sandwiches!

The Prince of Wales took part in the special edition of Heart Radio’s breakfast show to raise awareness around his work with the Isles of Scilly Hospital.
